AVID

Avid Meridien 9000XL

The Media Composer 9000 XL system features Avid's new "Meridien" hardware, providing additional functionality and uncompressed video resolutions not available with the Media Composer 9000.

Like the Media Composer 9000 the XL lets you work in an environment optimized for speed and creativity. You can customize your editing interface and map your keyboard to execute common tasks with a single keystroke. Powerful media management tools allow you to display clips in frame, text or script views, and locate material quickly and easily using multi-level sift and sort criteria.

Avid's script-based editing interface will allow you to instantly access and edit shots based on lined scripts located on your system. With standard Real-time Multi-camera Play you can play back nine images simultaneously and "cut" on the fly" by switching between the images on a per-cut basis. Other editing features such as interactive timeline editing, customizable timeline views and frame-accurate trimming with slip and slide will allow you to create programs quickly and easily.

    With full support of uncompressed dual video streams, real time 3d effects, titling and color correction the Avid Media Composer 9000XL is perfect for online finishing of projects. Being multi-format it can finish in both PAL and NTSC.

    You can layer and composite within the Media Composer application using 24 picture tracks. You don't have to mix down your video layers, allowing you to go back and change any effect element on any layer, at any time. It features both luma and Chroma keys in real-time and well as "Animatte" animated mattes for unlimited no-destructive compositing.
  • Advanced Audio

    The Media Composer 9000 XL features 8 channels of 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz audio I/O with 8-track monitoring and 24 audio track editing. Other audio capabilities include real-time, 3-band EQ; dynamic level adjustment; audio punch-in; scrubbing with pitch change; track/global pan settings; waveform display in the timeline; single-track crossfades; mixdown and Digidesign AudioSuite plug-in support; and external fader/mixer support.

    Avid Media Composer 9000

    The Media Composer 9000 system features Avid's seventh-generation editing model, production-proven on hundreds of thousands of jobs worldwide.

    The Media Composer 9000 lets you work in an environment optimized for speed and creativity. You can customize your editing interface and map your keyboard to execute common tasks with a single keystroke. Powerful media management tools allow you to display clips in frame, text or script views, and locate material quickly and easily using multi-level sift and sort criteria.

  • Broadcast-Quality Images

    The Media Composer 9000 uses the Avid Broadcast Video Board (ABVB), which supports the ITU 601-R broadcast standard at compression levels as low as 2:1. The ABVB also supports component and composite I/O or serial digital I/O and captures all 21 lines of blanking during digitizing, making it well suited for broadcast applications.

    Avid Film Composer Editing System

    The Film Composer system is based upon the same interface as the Media Composer system. Editing features include an interactive timeline, full screen editing and playback, and frame-accurate trimming. The script-based editing interface allows you to have a direct link from the set to the cutting room with immediate access to shots based upon lined scripts.

  • Digital Effects + Titling

    The Film Composer system comes standard with a range of real-time effects and titles to allow you to pre-visualize your final program before committing it to film. Included are dissolves, super-impositions, wipes, flips, flops, resizes, chroma keys, rolling and crawling titles, and a multitude of other effects on up to 24 layers. With the Intra-frame Editing Option and you can pre-visualize complex digital effects like matte creation, painting, cloning and others.
  • Cut List Support

    In feature film post- production, the Film Composer system can be used in all types of NTSC or PAL-based systems. Because there are many methods of making a film, the Film Composer database contains fields for key numbers, Acmade Code and preview codes. The Film Composer also features up to 7 time-code fields supporting 24, 25 and 30 drop-frame and non-drop-frame timecodes. Most all film gauges are supported and are able to be mixed together for list generation, including 16 mm; 35 mm, 3-, 4-, and 8-perf; and all gauges of 65 mm up to the 15-perf format used in Imax films. The lists generated can be re-calculated into any other gauge's format. A frame count can also be generated for those working in animation.

    A wide range of import/export formats are supported by the Film Composer, including Evertz Keylog, Aatonbase, and FLEX files.
  • Storage & Networking Solutions

    Eagle Eye provides advanced storage solutions that give you the ability to have hundreds of hours of storage online. Eagle Eye can also network solutions to enable the transfer of digital media and project files between different systems.

  • Speed & Creativity

    The Media Composer 1000 was designed to bring speed, flexibility, control and efficiency to digital nonlinear post-production. Media management tools let you display clips in frame, text or script views, and locate material quickly and easily using multi-level sift and sort criteria. Other editing features on the Media Composer 1000 include frame-accurate trimming with slip and slide; interactive timeline editing; customizable timeline views; full-screen editing and playback; and 32 levels of undo/redo.
  • Effects

    The Media Composer 1000 can help you create and play back a wide range of transitions keys and other effects in real time. Included is a hardware-independent QuickTime codec that can be used to create QuickTime effects on the Media Composer or on a separate Macintosh. The Media Composer 1000 also supports a wide range of real-time 2D effects including picture-in-picture. With the Avid 3D Effects Module, the Media Composer 1000 is capable of real-time, customizable 3D effects seamlessly integrated into your editing environment.

    The Media Composer 1000 system's standard audio features include 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz audio with 8-channel I/O (2 channel I/O optional); 8-track monitoring and 24 track audio editing real-time; 3-band EQ; ride and remember real-time dynamic level adjustment; scrubbing with pitch change; track/global pan settings; waveform display in the timeline; single-track crossfades; mixdown; and support for Digidesign AudioSuite plug-ins. External fader/mixer support is also available.
  • Open Solutions

    Eagle Eye technicians can integrate the Media Composer 1000 system with Avid and third-party hardware and software, provide full support for OMF Interchange format, a wide range of additional file formats, engineers and storage solutions.

    Avid Xpress Pro and Xpress Pro HD

    The Xpress Pro and Xpress Pro HD bring the Avid Media Composer interface into the world of DV, HDV video and Film. Eagle Eyeís Xpress pro rental systems range from complete G5 or PC based turnkey systems complete with decks, monitors, mixer, speakers and console to laptop location based systems.

    All Xpress Pro systems come with Mojo for real time effects, composite or component input and out. Storage is available from Unity systems, Archion RAID, and Archion RAID Firewire all configured and ready to go. Eagle Eye can even put Fibre Channel on a laptop Xpress Pro.


    KEM
    In 1971, Eagle Eye introduced the KEM flatbed editing system to Hollywood. Today, Eagle Eye remains the top resource for KEM system rentals and service. Clients can choose from the Universal 8 Plate, Rapid 6 Plate, or the 4 Plate KEM systems, always receiving the high level of quality service that Eagle Eye has delivered for over 30 years.

    4 Plate

    This table is available in 35mm with one switchable widescreen picture module and one magnetic sound module with an optional sound read/rewind flange. Modular interchangeable 35/16mm with the full line of Universal picture and sound modules. By using the Cine Sync interlock, 2 or more of these 4-plate tables can be locked and run together, for more versatility with the same functionality as an 8-plate. Each table can run one picture and one sound or two sound with no picture.

    Rapid 6 Plate

    This table is available in 35mm with a single picture and two sound units in 16 or 35mm for 1 picture and track operation. The high-speed rewind flange with search-head is standard and included. All picture and sound units feature the fast threading single sprocket drive. Picture units have flicker-free KEM-scopes and include one electronic footage/frame counter and one optical (35mm) or optical/magnetic (16mm) composite reader. Sound units include 3-digit frame displacement counters.

    Universal 8 Plate

    This table is available in 35mm with 2 switchable widescreen picture modules, 2 magnetic, 1 optical sound module and optional sound reader/rewind flange. Modular interchangeable 35/16mm with the full line of Universal picture and sound modules from 1 picture and 3 tracks, to 2 picture and 2 tracks or 3 picture and 1 track, with 1 optical 35 or 1 optical/mag 16 in center position only.
